On photography students' work

We organize this lecture to help photography students to face career pressure. We will meet face to face with top photography experts and university lecturers. Here, Susan and Ian will share with us their experience in photography and how to promote your own program through planning before graduation.

Susan Dooley

On photography students' work

Susan Dooley is a photojournalist and documentary photographer with approximately 30 years experience in the field. Graduated with a BS in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Illinois and an MFA in Photography from Long Island University, C.W. Post campus, she has worked as a staff photographer for newspapers and as a freelance photographer.

For the past 20 years, Ms.Dooley has freelanced and taught photography in Arizona, California and New York. She is presently a Full Professor and Chair of the Art Department at the Nassau Community College in New York. As an artist, Ms. Dooley's work has been exhibited widely in galleries, museums, libraries and universities, hospitals and churches in the U.S., Canada, Russia, and Asia. She is a founding member of fotofoto gallery in Huntington, NY. Additionally, she has served in a curatorial role in both China and the U.S.

Ian Beesley

On photography students' work

Ian Beesley is one of the UK's most respected social documentary photographers with a career spanning over 30 years he is reknowned for his work documenting the decline of industrial society in the North of England. His work is included in the collections of the National Media Museum, Bradford, The National Museum of Coal Mining England, The Imperial War Museum London, The National Museum of Labour History Manchester, The Victoria & Albert Museum London, The National Museum of Labour, Helsinki, & The Smithsonian Museum, Washington USA. He is regarded as one of the best black and white printers of his generation. He has published over twenty books of his work, he is currently working on another two to be published in 2011 and he is also the course leader for the MA photography at the University of Bolton, England
