The inaugural Australia-China Youth Dialogue, a project to strengthen Sino-Australian relations through constructive bilateral dialogue, brought together thirty youth leaders from China and Australia to the Australia Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai Expo on October 6th.

Together with internationally revered experts from Sino-Australia-related industry and academia, the delegates held a heated discussion on the issue of "Ramifications of Cultural Differences Between China and the West," the topic of the fifth panel discussion of the three-day event.

The dialogue, initiated by a grassroots student organization, the Australia China Youth Association, seeks not only to deepen the friendship, understanding and cross-cultural engagement between China and Australia, but also to encourage prospective future leaders to begin thinking and acting toward cooperative solutions for the major challenges they will face in their stewardship of this century.

The dialogue kicked off in Beijing on October 4th, and the delegates discussed regional, political, economic and environmental issues in the first two days of the event.
