As China's fifth Cultural Heritage Day approaches, the exhibition "Wonderful Workmanship - the 100 Intangible Cultural Heritage Masters of Arts and Crafts " opened on June 9 at the Beijing Exhibition Hall. Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, it is undertaken by the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection of Ministry of Culture and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center.

Traditional arts and crafts are important components of intangible cultural heritages in China. The exhibition houses arts and crafts of intangible cultural heritage from 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. The exhibition involves nearly one hundred traditional arts and handicrafts of national and provincial levels and other levels below provincial level. The exhibition also showcases over 320 contemporary arts and crafts works. There are also over one hundred intangible cultural heritage representative experts, all on a national, provincial and municipal level, on site giving live demonstrations of their production techniques.

The exhibition combines display boards with words and pictures, a display of items and fine demonstration by masters, which reveals a comprehensive and superb craftsmanship of China's intangible cultural heritage. Chinese arts and crafts in intangible cultural heritage are showcased to the world through activities that are both rich in content and charming in approach.

The exhibition is one of activities held during this year's “Cultural Heritage Day" and will be on until June 17th.
