Village teachers experience art based on their lives

A specially selected audience gathered at the National Center for the Performing Arts on December 5 to interact with the cast of NCPA’s newest opera, “A female teacher in a village”.

The story is about a young couple. The lady is from a big city and in order to stay with her boyfriend, she chose to work as a teacher in a small village. But on the contrary, her boyfriend decided to move to a big city and give up his rural life and lover.

Well-known coloratura soprano Dilber Yunus plays the heroine in the play.

Sponsored by the Hope Project teacher training program, these teachers are currently receiving a professional training in Beijing. All of them are from the Hope Project primary schools in earthquake affected areas such as Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi.
