Beijing's Olympic Park has been looking a lot more colorful and festive lately, thanks to the efforts of the city's workers.

The Olympic Park, which already sets northern Beijing apart with such iconic architectural achievements like the Water Cube and Bird's Nest, recently received a makeover for October 1st, when China will celebrate its 60th anniversary.

Thousands of flowers, of all kinds of colours and varieties, were added around the park in different types of displays.

Brilliant red flags and banners were also fluttering in the wind above throngs of visitors who struck poses and flashed smiles for the camera.

The Olympic Park, as well as other 9 key parks across Beijing are open to the public for free during National Day. The Olympic Park will also host a series of performances on October 2nd and 3rd, with a garden party beginning on October 4th.
