A cold front will bring strong winds and plunging temperatures to most parts of China in the next two days. The Central Meteorological Station issued this winter's first orange alert for cold temperatures on Tuesday night.

A mass of cold air from Siberia has brought snow to Xinjiang, Heilongjiang, and Inner Mongolia since Monday. In the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, traffic on the highways was restricted and flights were delayed by the snow. Large parts of Inner Mongolia were hit by strong winds, while temperatures dropped 6 to 8 degrees.

Over the next two days, strong winds will continue in northern and eastern parts of China, and temperatures in the south will drop by up to 10 degrees.
