Is urinating in the pool really all that bad?

(China Daily) Updated: 2016-07-29 16:29

Roger Clementine (Switzerland)

Let me put it this way. I'm a 21-year-old water polo player who's been in and out of pools for over 10 years. I estimate that between swimming and water polo practice, I've been in the pool an average of 5 times a week, 2 hours a day, 40 weeks a year, for 10 years. On an individual level, this amounts to 4,000 hours in the pool. Multiply this number by 12, the average number of teammates in the water with me during all of these practices, and you get a total of 48,000 hours.

48,000 hours represents the amount of man-hours in the pool I have witnessed with my own eyes. My role here is to report, so I'll lay it on you straight. During these 48,000 hours, not one person has ever gotten out of the pool to pee.

Just think about that, and you'll come to the realization that a no-pee policy is fruitless.
