问责条例(wènzé tiáolì):Accountability regulation

(China Daily) Updated: 2016-06-30 07:29

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China passed a regulation on Tuesday, according to which Party officials that fail in their duties will be held accountable.

According to a statement issued after the meeting presided over by General Secretary Xi Jinping, Party officials that undermine the Party's governance and harm peoples' interests because of their negligence or poor work performances will be held accountable.

In particular, the instructions of the Central Committee are to be passed down from the top and carried out through the ranks, and the Party will hold accountable officials who fail to implement Party guidelines, policies and reform measures, the statement said.

The new regulation has introduced an internal Party accountability mechanism that will be applied across all levels and divisions and cover officials at all levels, the statement said.

The Party's leading officials are required to be faithful, clean and responsible. The leadership of the CPC ordered Party departments to ensure that the regulation is effectively implemented and calls on officials to perform their duties for the good of the Party and the people.
