Chinese universities churn out degree holders every year who cannot adapt to the market's forces and needs. A university specializing in engineering will produce engineers by the thousands irrespective of whether the engineers will find jobs in their own areas of specialization. How can that compare favorably with Western universities?

At Western universities, students must learn harder in less time; there is no rote learning. Students go to class not to read in chorus from their textbooks; they go to take notes and to deepen their knowledge through studying in their free time. Students have to select books to read by themselves.
