Are budget airlines less safe?

I don't think so. Safe operations are paramount for any carrier including Germanwings. European discount carriers have maintained a solid safety record before and as for this crash, I don't think the airline has an issue with safety and it's an accident and we just need to find out what caused it before jumping to any conclusions.
