China is willing to promote mutual trust, strengthen communication and deepen strategic cooperative partnership with India to bring more benefits to both countries and peoples, says an article in People's Daily. Excerpts:

The second China-India strategic economic dialogue held in New Delhi on November 26 is an important meeting conducive to promoting China-India cooperation and pushing the strategic cooperative partnership into a new level.

Mutual trust is the foundation for strategic cooperation. The dialogue mechanisms between the two countries have been constantly improved and perfected and the bilateral cooperation fields have been widened. These positive changes show there is huge potential and room for the development of bilateral relations.

Undoubtedly, China and India can still improve their mutual trust. Political, historical and economic problems interweave with each other between the two giants. To solve the problems, both sides need to deepen bilateral cooperation and mutual trust. This is the only way out of the complicated situations that confront bilateral relations.

Both sides should be confident and avoid unnecessary strategic nervousness. The competition between China and India is mostly benign but not confrontational. There is plenty of space in the world for both countries' development.

As the economic ties between the two countries draw closer, these two countries have a bright future ahead. A prosperous Asia will play a bigger role in the new century and only when China and India both develop and coexist peacefully can prosperous Asia be finally realized.

The rise of China and India will also change the landscape of international politics and their harmonious coexistence will create a new model for big countries in the world.
