A "school" in Chengdu, Sichuan province, is now offering a 40-hour training course on how to marry a millionaire. Twelve single well-educated women aged from 26 to 45 have registered for the course and paid a fee of 10,800 yuan ($1,700). What was once just a Cinderella dream has become a career choice, says an article on gmw.cn. Excerpts:
It is an unknown question how many of the "trainees" will really marry a millionaire after they complete the course. But we can be sure the course will not be able to cultivate profound inner qualities in 40 hours.
There are many examples which show that one only has to go to a top school or come from the right family or marry someone from a rich family to be free of worries after graduation. This trend has prompted the younger generation to rely on others instead of striving for what they want. They, though might be materially rich, are spiritually poor.
There is nothing wrong with being born into a rich family or marrying a wealthy person, but it is another story if one contrives to make it happen. The more utilitarian love is, the less happy the couple will be. A marriage based on such shaky foundations will sooner or later end in tears.
