San Francisco-based filmmaker and artist Larry Yung explores the experience of Chinese American immigrants in his fifth Hong Kong solo exhibition, The Visit. Using mostly old photographs sourced from his father, Yung creates new narratives through paintings to depict an idyllic impression of the previous generation. In addition, two short films respectively examine dreams and memories, with the latter a highly personal reflection on Yung's relationship to his parents and the emotional impact their separation had upon him as he grew up in the United States.
