Dancing for a bright future

Macao Youth Dance Group will stage an emotional interpretation of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 6 in Guangzhou on Sunday.

The symphony is considered to be the composer's own requiem, expressing the pain of intellectuals under the tsarist government's cruel domination and their hope for a bright future.

The dance group interprets the symphony in the form of modern dance and universalizes the theme of seeing ideals smashed.

The male lead dancer represents a human being, while the female lead dancer, dressed in white, represents ideals and hopes.
