( China Daily)

Tango becomes sexier when it is played by a septet made up of accordion, violin, viola, cello, bass and piano. French accordionist Richard Galliano, together with his sextet, will come to Guangzhou on Sept 27 and Beijing on Oct 3 to present the intoxicating melodies of Argentine tango musician Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) to honor the master's 20th anniversary of his death.

Galliano learnt to play accordion at 4 and after he discovered jazz music at 14, he embarked on a rediscovery of accordion by using it to play jazz. He received the French government's Commander Order of Arts and Letters in 2011.

As Piazzolla's last student and his close friend, Galliano is recognized as the best re-interpreter of Piazzolla's Tango Nuevo works, especially the famous piece called Libertango, making them delicate and rich by adding a light improvisational jazz touch.
