Wang Linsen, a veteran ink artist from Jiangxi province, is holding his first solo show at National Museum of China.

The self-trained ink painter has traveled extensively in his home province over the past decades and made countless sketches besides studying classical ink artworks in museums.

Combining his personal observations of Mother Nature and strict self-training in traditional skills, the 65-year-old has found his own painting language.

"His depictions of lush and misty mountainous landscapes in Jiangxi province strongly appeal to contemporary viewers," says Chen Lusheng, curator of the exhibition.

The exhibition features more than 80 ink landscape paintings and is jointly sponsored by the Painting Institute and China National Painting Academy.

9 am-5 pm, until July 9 (closed on Mondays and public holidays). National Museum of China, 16 East Chang'an Avenue, Dongcheng district, Beijing. 010-6511-6400.
