( China Daily)

Borodin Quartet, one of the world's oldest that's still around, is going to revisit Guangzhou, Guangdong's provincial capital, after its debut in the city 14 years ago.

On April 22, the legendary Russian chamber orchestra will breathe life into the pieces of Tchaikovsky, Haydn and Beethoven with their phenomenal skills and strong chemistry among members, built on years' cooperation. They will perform the very challenging Beethoven's Op 133. Only a few chamber orchestras have attempted playing the piece.

Founded in 1945, Borodin Quartet is regarded as representative of Russian musicians and has been going on worldwide tours. As a matter of tradition the quartet comprises graduates from the string department of The Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and plays in the romantic style.

8 pm, April 22. Symphony Hall, Xinghai Concert Hall, 33 Qingbo Lu, Er-sha Island, Yuexiu district, Guangzhou. 020-8735-2222
