With his first solo multimedia exhibition at Long March Space in Beijing's 798 art zone, Huang Ran, a 30-year-old artist from Xichang, Sichuan province, voices his opinions on temptation and intoxication, corruption of aesthetics and morality.
One part of the exhibition, titled Disruptive Desires, Tranquility and the Loss of Lucidity, showcases a film elaborating a silent love story between two teenagers. Visitors can sit on the carpet and watch the 22-minute film, which captures a fleeting moment of beauty, while revealing the loneliness and brutishness of pure love.
Huang's installation work, titled The Weakness of Will and the Fear of Society, comprises several glass containers of oil, among which two have water pumps circulating the oil at different rates.
11 am-7 pm, except Mondays, until April 16. Long March Space, 798 art zone, 4 Jiuxianqiao Lu, Chaoyang district, Beijing. 010-5978-9768.
