Three models sat for statue sculpting at the National Art Museum of China on Wednesday. The demonstration was part of an ongoing National Sculpture Exhibition at the Beijing museum, which runs through Sunday.

Wu Weishan, the museum's director and a sculptor, worked with 90-year-old Wang Yanling, a military veteran who fought in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Civil War and the Korean War.

And two other sculptors Ren Yanming and Li Jun each worked with Zhuang Zeping, 74, who has provided volunteer service at the museum for eight years, and Duan Xuefei, 51, who was named a national model worker in 2015.

Residents from nearby and middle school students were invited to see how the artists worked and communicated.
