Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat fourth seed Tomas Berdych at an overcast Roland Garros on Sunday, winning their fourth-round match 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-3 on a day of mixed fortunes for French hopes.

There were times in my career when people said, 'OK, you have to be less enthusiastic, less emotional on the court'. But actually it takes more energy for me to stop than to just let it out.
