A university in Beijing is suing a recruiting agency that they claim misled students about the degrees they would receive after graduating, according to the Beijing News.

Capital Normal University said the agency told recruits that they would receive a bachelor's degree at the university in an effort to attract more students.

Seventy students who were admitted to the university's art school stopped attending class after they discovered that they would receive associate degrees instead bachelor degrees.

The university has agreed to refund students’ tuition in full and pay each one 70,000 yuan ($11,540) in compensation.

As of Monday, most of the students had accepted the compensation.
