German carmaker Audi AG saw sales during the first half of the year increase 11 percent in China, the company said Monday.
The "2009 Automotive Engine Technology Seminar & 2009 Auto Engine Parts Match-making Event" was held in Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Centre on June 30, Gasgoo.com said yesterday.
Chinese manufacturers rolled out a record 89 new auto models in the first half of this year amid the industry boom, said an official with the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) Tuesday.
General Motors Corp may be struggling mightily in the US, restructuring under bankruptcy protection, but the automaker has harvested a half-year sales record in China, where it promised to "continue to invest in heavily".
General Motors Corp said Wednesday that sales in China jumped 38 percent in the first half of this year, helped by strong demand for its minivans and other small vehicles.
While China's vehicle exports were severely battered by the global economic downturn, its automobile parts suppliers have been faring well in overseas markets.
