Kodak Alaris announced its plan to establish a new branch company in Shanghai, signaling the official start of its Chinese business.

Kodak Alaris separated from its parent company, struggling Eastman Kodak Co, and became an independent firm in September last year. It focuses on providing innovative images, document and film management.

Ralf Gerbershagen, the newly appointed chief executive officer, said it's a significant milestone for Kodak Alaris to found its Chinese branch. The company holds great potential in the Chinese market, based on years of experience with Eastman Kodak Co, he said.

Meanwhile, Kodak Alaris launched its latest service, mobile phone instant photo printing. The new retail model helped Kodak Alaris tap into the Internet and social networks business.
