SEOUL - Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Republic of Korea have agreed to fully reopen the Kaesong industrial complex on Sept 16 after a trial run, Seoul's Unification Ministry said Wednesday.

The industrial zone is located a few kilometers inside DPRK and was closed when Pyongyang pulled its 53,000 workers out amid rising tensions between the two countries earlier this year.

DPRK and ROK will aim to attract foreign investors into the zone, a key foreign currency earner for the DPRK, said the ministry, which is responsible for handling ROK's stance on bilateral relations.
