Vietnam's top chess grandmaster to compete

HANOI -- Vietnam's top chess grandmaster Le Quang Liem has been selected as the only representative of Vietnam to compete at the SportAccord World Mind Games 2013 scheduled on December 12-18 in Beijing, China, Voice of Vietnam reported Monday, quoting sources from the World Chess Federation (FIDE).

This will be the third time Liem competes in the world games.

In this year's tournament, apart from the world's Top 20, there are three exceptional participants, including Liem who won the championship titles in the World Blitz and Rapid Chess events, and two others from China.

There will be a total of 32 chess players to compete in rapid chess, blitz chess and Basque chess for both males and females, said the report.
