Growing global influence

The diplomatic activities of President Xi Jinping after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, from meeting visiting Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and US President Donald Trump to attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders' Meeting and paying state visits to Vietnam and Laos, have opened a new chapter in China's diplomacy and enhanced China's global influence, appeal and charisma.

Such diplomacy is an incarnation of China's substantial efforts to work with the rest of the world to build a new type of international relations and the community of a shared destiny for mankind envisioned by Xi.

China, under the leadership of Xi, holds high the banner of peace, development, cooperation and win-win results. And with a long-term, broad vision and a sense of responsibility it has been endeavoring to advance friendly cooperation with other countries and thus injected fresh confidence and momentum into development of not only the Asia-Pacific but also the world.

The high-level meetings with other countries, efforts to dovetail the Belt and Road Initiative with the development strategies of other countries, and a series of other diplomatic moves have enhanced mutual trust, increased consensuses and expanded cooperation, helping China to make progress in building a new type of international relations.

Such a magnificent diplomatic start ushers in the unfolding of China's strategic layout and draws a blueprint for the country's diplomacy in the new era and highlights the opportunities brought by China's development. The international community has increasingly recognized that a more dynamic China with deeper interactions offers the world more opportunities.
