Inner Mongolia has set goals for developing big data as well as the cloud computing industry, with the ambition of building up a multi-ethnic shared e-platform over the next three to five years.

As a region with traditional Mongolian ethnic culture, the government plans to make use of cloud computing to promote folk culture, the Mongolian language, Mongolian medicines and treatment, ethnic history, and many other customs. This system will meet the needs of the Mongolian ethnic group to search information online as well as communicate with the world.

Inner Mongolia has also set a further five development goals including the construction of a large data center in North China, a data port along the Silk Road, a cross-sector governmental platform, an Internet Plus system for public services, and a database for converging industrial advantages.
