Inner Mongolia receives millions in arts endowment

The National Endowment for the Arts disclosed a list of arts projects that have received financial funds, with 730 million yuan ($109 million) subsidizing 966 projects in total. The Inner Mongolia autonomous region received 35.74 million yuan for 32 projects.

Out of the six major funding types, Inner Mongolia received funds of 24.69 million yuan for nine big stage dramas and 1.05 million yuan for seven musical programs. Four talented youths also received funds for their creative works, such as musical compositions.

Also, about six Inner Mongolian ethnic arts performances, such as khoomei (a type of throat singing) and er’rentai (a popular Mongolian song-and-dance duet), received financial support.
