The plans call for 10 bus charging stations, six for taxis, and 3,000 for general new energy vehicles, and one intelligent management system, all of which are to be completed in two years. They are expected to charge 20–30,000 new energy vehicles after they are all in operation. The city already has four charging stations that have been completely tested.

The project is getting 1,2 million yuan from a national fund for new energy vehicle pilot cities, with Wuhai being the only city to get the special funding so far.
