IMUT's foreign languages festival concludes

The closing ceremony of Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMUT)'s 12th Foreign Languages Festival was held on June 11, when the last event, an English speech contest opened.

Journalists from China Daily were present at the English speech contest and gave out China Daily news papers to the students.

China Daily news papers has been used as teaching materials in the university's some courses since 2015, said a teacher in the university.

Mao Chaoming, deputy head of the university's Foreign Languages College, said he expects more cooperation on teaching between China Daily and IMUT.

IMUT's foreign languages festival has been a tradition of the university since 2004, and a campus activity brand now, after 12 years. This year's festival included speech contests in English and German, a foreign songs contest, an oral interpretation contest and dubbing of foreign-language films.
