The Ministry of Culture listed an industrial park of the Yuan Shangdu (upper capital of Yuan Dynasty) in Inner Mongolia's Zhenglan Banner as a key project of the 2015 Silk Road Cultural Industry.

This industrial park covers an area of 205,000 square meters with an investment of 400 million yuan ($64.56 million). It has focused on products with ethnic culture characteristics since 2008, when it went to official operation. Now it's a zone integrated with multiple businesses in traveling, shopping, amusement, catering, accommodation and transportation. The park is a demonstration base for small and micro enterprises' start-ups.

Recently, the Ministry of Culture has chosen 26 key projects for this year's Silk Road Cultural Industry, three of which are in Inner Mongolia. The initiative of "Silk Road Culture Industry Belt" was put forward by the Ministry of Culture in 2014,which aims to be an important content of the Silk Road Economic Belt.
