Fifteen mutton suppliers in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region have signed deals to receive help from the autonomous region's department of agriculture and forestry.

This is part of the autonomous region's effort to boost the development of mutton companies. The autonomous region's government initiated a program called "Three Fives", with the goal being to grow five companies that each produces 1 million sheep per year, five mutton processing companies that each has sales revenue of 1 billion yuan ($160.81 million) per year, and five household mutton brands by 2017. The department of agriculture and forestry will offer assistance to companies on the list of the program to make the sheep and mutton industry another pillar of the autonomous region after the dairy and cashmere industries.
