Peace Mission-2014 anti-terror drill kicks off in N China

Chinese troops gather at the opening ceremony of the Peace Mission-2014 anti-terror drill at Zhurihe training base in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Sunday. The drill will be held from Aug 24 to Aug 29 with participating troops from members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, including China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. A total of 7,000 troops from the five countries will participate in the drill, which will involve ground and air forces, special operations, airborne troops as well as electronic countermeasures, reconnaissance, mapping and positioning. Drones, early warning aircraft, air-defense missiles, tanks and armored vehicles will also be included. [Photo/Xinhua]
