Much like the sense of smell, music can instantly bring back moments from our past; locations, people we've known, sensations and emotions. I don't know the particulars of how sounds act on brain activity to make this happen, but it's true.

The West, led by the United States and its allies, may be in denial that Asia - especially populous nations such as China and India - will brighten this century more than others. Will the colonizers and the economic hegemons of the past learn to swallow not only this pill but their own inflated pride (rather hubris)?
