Li Xiaomeng made history when she became the first woman to win the Hearthstone Grandmasters Global Finals e-sports tournament this month. Li defeated her final opponent 3-0, to become the first woman to claim the top prize in the popular online card-game tournament. Her victory secured her $200,000. She said after the game that she hopes her triumph inspires women throughout the world. In Hearthstone, gamers use online cards to use spells and minions to destroy the health of their opponent. Two years ago while Li was signing up at a Hearthstone event, a player told her that the convention was not a place for women and said, "It's not for you."
