Mother, son reunite after 11 years apart

A 58-year-old Henan mother reunited with her son at Zhengzhou Airport in Henan province on Thursday, 11 years after the two lost contact with each other in Urumqi, the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

Mao Fenglan said she has dreamed of meeting her son Lu Zhigang, 35, over and over again during the past 11 years.

As her eyesight deteriorated, her desire to see her son again while she still can grew stronger. Thus her son-in-law decided to find his missing brother-in-law.

Earlier this month, thanks to the help of people in both Henan and Xinjiang, Lu was found.

Lu returned to their hometown in Yexian county, Pingdingshan, with his family late on Thursday afternoon.
