RIO DE JANEIRO - Brazil should be able to achieve moderate growth in 2012, while most of the OECD's 34 member economies will lose steam in the coming months, the economic grouping said Thursday.

Brazil's indicator remained stable from May to June at 99 points, after the economy posted an expansion in previous months, meaning it will keep growing in the near future, albeit at a slower pace, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development said in a report.

The OECD also said emerging economies like China, Russia and India will register deceleration. And among the seven largest economies in the world, Britain was the only one to register a rise in its indicator, suggesting signs of recovery of economic activity for this year.

The eurozone seems to be the main source of problems, but indicators for the United States and Japan have also decreased, the OECD added.
