0BEIRUT - Syrian state television said General Hassan Turkmani, a former defence minister and senior military official, died of wounds sustained in a bomb attack in Damascus on Wednesday, confirming earlier reports from security sources.
The bombing at a security building in the Syrian capital also killed Defence Minister Daoud Rajha and President Bashar al-Assad's brother-in-law Assef Shawkat.
