3 killed in Canada train accident

TORONTO - At least three people were killed Sunday afternoon and dozens were trapped after a train derailed in the Canadian province of Ontario, local media reported.

Some of the other passengers aboard were injured after two cars of the train veered off the rails at about 3:30 pm near the Aldershot station in Burlington, Ontario, 60 km west of Toronto, reports said.

There were 75 people on the train, the reports said, and many of them were still trapped inside.

At least two injured people were airlifted to hospitals, police said.

The train were travelling from Niagara Falls to Toronto and the weather conditions were good at the time. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
