CAIRO - Egypt's North Cairo Criminal Court decided on Sunday to postpone the trial of 43 workers of domestic and foreign non-governmental organizations to April 26, official news agency MENA reported.
The presiding judge Mohamed Shokry made the decision in the first session upon the defendants' lawyers request to postpone the trial as they need enough time revising all relevant papers.
The lawyers also said that they need enough time to contact the Justice Ministry to demand bringing accredited translators to represent the foreign defendants.
The charged people include 19 Americans, 14 Egyptians and others from Serbia, Germany, Lebanon, Jordan, and the Palestinian territories.
Only the 14 Egyptians appeared in the trial's first session.
