Hungarians protest against new constitution

People attend a demonstration in front of the Hungarian State Opera House to protest against the country's new constitution in Budapest, capital of Hungary, Jan 2, 2012. The protest, the biggest anti-government demonstration to date which was organized by civil organizations rather than political parties, took place close to the Hungarian State Opera House where Prime Minister Viktor Orban, President Pal Schmitt and other dignitaries were attending a gala ceremony in honor of the new charter. The constitution, now called the Basic Law, has been criticized by opponents who believe it will cause lasting damage to the country's democracy.[Photo/Xinhua]
