Should bride prices be abolished?

Unfortunately, abolishing or limiting a "bride price" will not stop the practice. The media should stop publicizing how extravagant some people are with this... for some it's their fifteen minutes of fame, and for what? Bride prices, houses, cars for marriage... it's out of control and shameful. 2.88 million yuan for a bride... I'll refrain from nasty comments, but she better be worth every penny of it or provide a money back guarantee!
