Is being single the new norm?

It seems that too many young folks in China are pressured into marriages they're neither prepared for emotionally or mentally, nor are they prepared for it materially. This tradition must stop. People should be free to marry in their own time and for their own reasons, not just because society, on the whole, expects it when they reach a certain age. I'm in my 40's and never married and no hurry to do it either. I've seen marriages in my family, and among friends ruined because of rushing into it. I prefer to learn from others mistakes and hopefully, not make the same one(s) they do.
