Is being single the new norm?

Not everybody can live on their own; in fact I would say most people can't. Even when a marriage or a relationship goes wrong and you fall out of love. You're bound to have an emotional attachment to somebody you've lived with for a long time. Lots of people don't want to grow old alone and dread the thought of dying on their own but one has to go first and the other ends up alone anyway. A big advantage of being solo is you don't have to ask anybody's permission to do as you like.
