A TV program featuring Silk Road stories that is co-sponsored by China and Kazakhstan was launched here Tuesday.

The program, named "The Silk Road Theater," was jointly organized by China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and Kazakhstan's Khabar television station.

According to a TV and film program exchange cooperation agreement signed by the two sides, Khabar is going to broadcast two documentaries that have been translated into the local language.

Also on Tuesday, a special edition of a Russian-language magazine was issued in Astana.

The journal focuses on showing readers the development of friendly relations between China and Kazakhstan and accomplishments in their all-round cooperation.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is going to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan to attend the 17th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of State and the opening ceremony of the World Expo in Astana from June 7 to 10.
