Beijing in the eyes of French artist

French artist Quentin Spohn is showcasing a series of new paintings based on his impressions of Beijing during his three-month stay here.

Prefacing the exhibition, the artist wrote that he found himself immersed in the city after touring around and that Chinese art and culture resonated with him.

"The blankness and actuality in Chinese landscape painting, the body language of Chinese calligraphy, and the irregularity in ceramic art… all these influenced my painting during my stay here," said the artist.

If you go:

10am-6:30pm, through Jan 12. Yishu 8 gallery (former Sino-French University), 20 Dong Huangchenggen North Street, Dongcheng district.
