Old photographs on display at neighborhood slated for demolition in Fuzhou

An exhibition of old photographs, "Dreaming back to Shanghang and Xiahang", was held at an old neighborhood slated for demolition in Taijiang District in Fuzhou, capital of Southeast China's Fujian province, Jan 12, 2015. The exhibition attracted a large number of residents who used to live there to come back to have a look at the place of their childhood memories. The Shanghang and Xiahang roads of Taijiang District are commonly known as "Shuanghang", which used to be the business center and shipping dock in the early years of Fuzhou. Now, the government is going to invest 1.4 billion yuan to construct the area into a Fuzhou Min business and culture block, with Chinese and western architecture chracteristics, before 2018.
