BEIJING - China will never recognise the United States' appointment of a special coordinator for Tibetan issues, Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Monday, saying it opposes any foreign intervention in its internal affairs.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Friday he had named one of his officials, Sarah Sewall, as a special coordinator for Tibetan issues.

"The Chinese government resolutely opposes any foreign country using the so-called Tibet problem to interfere in China's internal affairs," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a daily news briefing.

"China has never and will never recognise the US' so-called special envoy for the Tibet problem." Hua said.
