Changchun anti-graft head suspended

(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2014-02-19 22:15

The head of an anti-graft bureau has been suspended from his position because of his luxury working style, authorities in Changchun said on Tuesday.

A year-long investigation into a land tenure case found that Li Xiaoming, who headed the anti-corruption bureau under the People’s Procuratorate of Changchun in Jilin province, flew first class and stayed in five-star hotels.

Li’s traveling expenses were provided by a party involved in the case, the investigation found.

The city’s discipline inspection commission launched the investigation after the case was exposed in November, Beijing Times reported on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the city’s publicity department confirmed that Li had been suspended, adding that luxury working styles contravene disciplinary standards for Party officials. The procuratorate will review cases Li conducted to guarantee justice.
