The BRICS Business Forum, held from Sept 3-4 in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, has brought new hope and directed future development for global entrepreneurs.

Wei Jie (Jay Wei), chairman of Hangzhou-based JC Group, a company dedicated to building distinctive resort towns, found the BRICS spirit fits perfectly with his ideas.

"Besides trade, investment, and finance cooperation, BRICS emphasizes culture and people-to-people exchange this time, and this is what we are doing right now," Wei said. About 50 of the 58 distinctive resort towns by JC Group in China focus on culture and tourism, with healthcare, real estates, culture, education, and finance as supplements. Wei also said he hopes the company can contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative and the BRICS Plus model to share his thoughts with other parts of the world.

The digital economy, intelligent manufacturing and Internet Plus are future trends that no one can escape from, thus JC Group is serving its customers big data, and will expand its usage into all aspects of human life.

"People wear smart chips in town and all the buildings and electronic devices would collect big data on the customers, from health conditions to travel planning to better serve them," Wei said.

JC plans to set up a pilot project within the group early next year and expand the use of big data into its resort towns in three to five years, he added.
